The HVACR Show at the Excel Centre, London between January 23 and 25 will feature the ‘Brymec Press Challenge’, a competition run by leading building services and plumbing components supplier Brymec on its stand.

The challenge will comprise a one-on-one competition every 15 minutes during the show to discover the visitor to Brymec’s stand who is most adept at using the innovative Conex Bänninger press fitting, >B< MaxiPro, and its specialist jointing tool from Rothenberger. Each competitor must cut a copper pipe, deburr it, prepare the pipe surface with a wire wool pad to and, finally, re-join the pipe with two joints on each side.

Two members of the Brymec sales team will be on hand to time visitors’ efforts, ensure they fit the joints correctly, and offer advice and guidance where needed.

The competition winner – the visitor that has produced the fastest crimp over the three days of the show – will receive a Rothenberger Romax press fitting tool worth more than £1,400.

>B< MaxiPro provides secure, permanent leak-proof joints suitable for air conditioning and refrigeration applications. Creating reliable, tamper-proof connections from a single action, >B< MaxiPro benefits from a three-point press – two presses, one on each side of the bead, and one press compressing the O-ring. This provides a permanent and secure joint.

Tested and approved for a wide range of refrigerants and oils, the >B<MaxiPro is flame-free so there is no risk of fire and no need to obtain a hot works permit. No brazing or oxygen free nitrogen purging are required either. >B< MaxiPro comes with a one-year guarantee as standard, extended to five years for those with the requisite training.
